On August 31st, at The Brewery, we will have Shared Sulla Terra available for on-site enjoyment as well as a very limited amount of bottles available to-go.
Sulla Terra is our Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, and Maple Bourbon Barrel-Aged English Barleywine. Sulla Terra is Italian for “Upon the Earth” and is our first blended Barleywine expression. As we do with Derivation, our Imperial Stout series, we are brewing multiple Barleywine recipes to age in a variety of barrels. We then explore their unique characteristics to produce a sum which is greater than the parts through our blending processes. A blend of two unique English recipes, aged in three different barrel types for 25 months, the Sulla Terra 2019 blend was spearheaded by brewer Brian Ivers and exemplifies what we believe to be a exemplary take on a Barrel-Aged English Barleywine.
We couldn’t be more excited to share this Barleywine with you, and to showcase the expanding abilities of all of our brewers and their blending prowess. We will also have some Sulla Terra available at The Cellar for on-site enjoyment (to-go only at The Brewery) on Saturday.
