On Saturday, August 3rd, we will have a new blend of Black & Wild available to-go at both locations!
After being double barrel-aged in spent Derivation barrels over the course of more than 4 years and being infused with Michigan Balaton Cherries twice, we are happy to have Blend #3 ready to share with you.
Black & Wild began as a challenge to produce a black sour that I enjoyed. For me, black wild ales and wild ales over 10% ABV often strike my palate with too much force. Black & Wild was my challenge to change things up, not only for me, but for our Side Project lineup of beers. With a very soft, but black malt bill, aged in spent bourbon barrels that housed Derivation (double barrel-aged for more than 4 years) and re-fermented on Balaton Cherries twice, Black & Wild Blend #3 provides a rich, chocolatey palate with notes of vanilla and bourbon and finishes with tart cherries.
Black & Wild Blend #3 lends heavily on the characteristics of Blend #1 and we are very excited to share it with you to-go on Saturday, August 3rd at both locations. Like always, allocations will be based on turnout and if you are in line by noon, you will be guaranteed an allotment. This release will be out of the back door at the brewery. In addition to Black & Wild Blend #3, we will also be releasing a new Shared Double IPA, Junk Shop - a collaboration with Perennial Artisan Ales, in cans to fulfill your need of hops!
